Historic projects

Two years ago, my daughter's high school leaving do, the bolero was a last minute addition, as we couldn't find a shawl to go with the dress.

My neighbour had a baby girl, Olivia, and my receptionists niece also had a baby girl!

and a school friend became Grandma to a baby boy!
I thought the outfits were quite sweet!

and this tear my younger daughter left college, so another prom dress!

and this time I made the bag and the shawl to go with the dress. They must have been good as the bag and the shawl were stolen at the do! Her purse was emptied and she got that back, but the bag is gone. And I suspect we will never see the shawl again. It was the first time I had inserted magnetic snaps, and I was pleased with how they went in. a small bit of back detail- covered buttonslook so good!

And I also made a bag for a friend, and gave her the instructions so she can do it herself!

At a later date I will try to find the prom dress made for my elder daughter, about six years ago. But that is enough for now!

ok, this is the latest block. I took a long time working out which fabrics to use, and took sneaky peeks at what others had chosen to do with theirs, before getting down to it. I think I am reasonably satisfied with my result. I will need to trim it a little. It sis supposed to end up 12 1/2" square, but when trimmed will be 12 1/2" by 12 3/8". I expect it will do!

Hello!

Ok I already have a blog, so why start again? I suppose the other one was really started for the purpose of recording the garden, but it spread into sewing. I thought I could do with a separate place for sewing stuff. So this is it.

I started watching Amanda at crazymomquilts last autumn, and this year I thought I would be really daft and try out the skill builder at Sewn. I am going to have to work a lot of stuff out now, as I will need to learn how to add addresses and buttons to the blog. It will be good practise!
So all those blocks you see come from the skill builder.

There is a nice button on this site to add to say I am trying to participate but I have yet to work that one out!So I am also going to put in my ha'porth for some giveaways, you never know someone has to be lucky!
